President's Message

I trust that everyone had a great summer! We're looking forward to another interesting and productive
series of CLE presentations this year, starting with the Sept 19th "Inroduction to e-Filing in Nassau
County" presented by Maureen O'Connell, Nassau County Clerk, and sponsored by Real Time Reporting.
Our Executive Director, Jayson A. Wolfe, along with the sub-committee, is working on Islanders
Hockey Family Night, a trip to Puerto Rico, and other events. So, keep watching our Web site and
Newsletter for updates. Let's get more involved in our NLA of LI . . attend our events and strive to
bring along new members to share in the professionalism, friendship, warmth and camaraderie we all enjoy
each year. A hearty good health to all our members and welcome back!

September 19th Meeting
|
|
|
Nassau County Clerk Maureen O'Connell will be the featured
speaker at our September 19th meeting. She will present a 2 credit
CLE explaining "e-Filing in the Nassau County Courts."
Members ClE cost with dinner is $80.00 and a large turnout is expected,
so sign up early and bring a guest.

Scholarship Committee

|
|
This summer our NLA of LI scholarship committee met at C.W. Post
College to interview prospective candidates for the NLA of LI scholarships.
Thanks to Scholarship Chairman Ed Mulhern and the scholarship committee members,
Henry Cernitz, Richard Felix, Bob Greco, and President Chet Greenspan, two (2) deserving
students were selected in carrying out the mission of the NLA of LI -- scholarship,
mentorship, education and community service.

Golf Outing

|
The third Annual NLA of LI Golf Outing was a swinging success!
On August 14th, we hosted our third annual golf outing. Inspired by
the leadership of Executive Director, Jayson A. Wolfe, over 36
members and guests enjoyed a day of fellowship and skill at Harbor
Links Golf Course. It was a wonderful day of camaraderie,
fellowship, food, skill and fun. Thanks to Jayson for his leadership
in this event and thanks to all who contributed by donating prizes
or sponsoring the event. Dave Levine provided gifts, Mike Levine
provided the golf balls, Mike Lione provided four tickets to the Mets
for the raffle, Greg Peterson donated golf equipment, Litman and
Litman provided tees and Ellen Birch of Real Time Court Reporting
sponsored the event, which provided a $500.00 donation to the
scholarship fund. Well done and good fun!

Congratulations to Keith and Kim Black on the blessed event of the birth of Matthew Joseph on August 8th!
It is the couple's first child and we wish the Black family all the health and happiness this blessed arrival brings.
